Moving in Mighty Ways
by Heather Gray // Chair of the Wesley Board
Hello Wesley Supporters!
My name is Heather Gray. I have served on the Wesley Board since 2015 and this year have the pleasure of serving the ministry as Board Chair. The Wesley Ministry is moving in mighty ways under the guidance of Pastor Erwin, his wife Charity, and the student leadership team. Over the past several years the ministry has grown, serving between 70-80 students weekly at Tuesday night meals and worship. Additionally, the students are learning leadership skills and supporting each other in welcoming in new students through a Freshman initiative called "Freshley". Wesley at UCF works hard to maintain a community of friendship and learning opportunities through small groups, leadership training, retreats, missions projects, community service, and campus outreach. How can you support Wesley? Great question! Below is a list of ministry needs and ways you can help support our students:
Community connections to potential sponsors/discounts for Tuesday Student Meals and Worship Board Membership and Participation Volunteer cooking meals Prayer Host a table at our spring fundraising dinner -
A Taste of Wesley (April 2019)
$5000 (ex. Purchases 1 year of Tuesday night student meals)
$1500 (ex. Pays for 1 Student to attend the Costa Rica Mission Trip)
$1000 (ex. Covers cost for Band and speakers for Fall Retreat)
$500 (ex. Sends 1 student on Freshley Mission Trip)
$250 (ex. Pays to feed all students at a Tuesday dinner)
$100 (ex. Sends 1 student on Fall Retreat)
$50 (ex. Campus outreach and materials for students)
Currently, we are working to secure a leased space on the UCF Campus, for greater campus outreach and accessibility to students. Pastor Erwin is presently leading weekly "Coffee with Erwin" meetings at the campus Starbucks. He has seen firsthand the impact of an on-campus presence. We are working to help Wesley raise the funds needed to secure an on-campus space that would allow students more accessibility to the ministry, their pastor, leaders, and friends on daily basis.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of the Wesley at UCF. These students are the future of the ministry and community leaders!
